What is Thermochromic Dye?

Have you ever seen the labeling of a product change colors? This is done by the usage of temperature sensitive dye. This type of dye is often associated with specialized security and food and beverage packaging labels. The term "thermochromic" means that the dye is heat sensitive. When exposed to heat, or a lack of heat, the dye on the temperature sensitive label will change colors.
